Stealth CD-ROM Drives
I was really happy with my case but not with the way the CD-ROM drives looked. I had two options to fix this. One was to paint the drives the same color. The second was to make cut down my 5 1/4 blanks to make stealth drives. The stealth drives look cooler but you have to eject the CD within the OS.

This was how the PC looked before the stealth drive conversion. I had taken the side panel off to loosen the CD-ROM screws.

This was the blank 5 1/4 bay (back view) before I cut it.

I used a Dremel to cut down the edges of the blank. It has a small amount of the sides left. I did not want to ruin the appearance of the curves once it was installed.

I applied 3M double-sided tape to the drive.

I placed the blank on the drive. Once I got the blank on I slid the drive back to make it flush.

This is a picture of the DVD drive ejected.

This is the completed look of the stealth drives. I did this for both my DVD and my Burner on my computer.
I am currently using a piece of software called 2002 CD Eject. This allows my to eject my drives within Windows. I am still on my trial period. I may try to write something similar so I do not have to spend the $10.
